Eastern interests push for government action while financiers and western lawmakers split on paying for extensive flood control programs that would benefit a third of the nation’s area population and output.
Chicago and suburbs lead Illinois in building growth per a National Monthly Building Survey by Straus & Co. New York tops the nation. Chicago follows city limits, with six of eight cities issuing over half a million dollars in March 1928, all in Cook County. Downstate Decatur is the smallest among the listed cities.

The history traces back to a 1921 relocation from Viaines street and earlier German roots, with 137 feet on Elgin and 25 feet on Harvard.
Villeevi council adopted ordinances on day lighting and street widening plus paving in the southern village. Irving Miller and Glen Meyers sought a permit for 245 Apples Avenue but were denied amid objections. matter dropped after council deliberations. Postmaster Yunker’s communication was read and a draft ordinance ordered. Mayor called Mr Ellyath to discuss rabies treatment with Dr. Miller of Oak Park.
F C Mullen of Ok Park, deputy grand master of the Masonic Lodge, planned to visit the Forest Park meeting at the Masonic Temple to deliver an address outlining lodge aims and fraternal duties.
