The Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, maker of Motorola radios, has leased the Layne North Central building at 1421-25 Crete Avenue to establish research laboratories. Ten research engineers will be based there, with Raymond F. E. Wood already moving in from Rogers Park. The firm, producing 2000 autos daily at its Chicago plant, rents the space to advance development away from electrical impulses amid competing communities. Broker Henry Rieck of 7507 Madison Street arranged the five year lease.
