The 8th annual Fish Fry and Scholarship Dinner at Walther Lutheran High School Cafeteria Melrose Park will be held May 7 from 5 to 7 30 p m The Ald Ass n for Lutherans sponsors the event Proceeds go to the Grant Mind Aid Fund for needy students Since 1958 the dinner has funded 22 tuition scholarships The school started in 1954 now serves about 500 students with 25 teachers Admission is 1 25 for adults and 75 cents for children The menu features deep fried perch Lake Michigan smelt and Italian beef sandwiches Executives Elroy E Heinrich and Joseph A Karner assist the effort.

County Group Honors Bob Dowd at Dinner
Robert Dowd of 1030 Dunlop received a certificate of award from the Suburban Cook County Federation of Community Committees at their annual dinner in the Sherman Hotel.
