Seven new store rooms on Madison Street Forest Park are nearing completion with three rented. Two are in the Flory building on the south side of Madison between Ulele avenue and Marengo west of RC. Haln's building is under construction. The other four lie at the corner of Madison Street and Ferdinand avenue, two of which are rented to a bakery and a tailor’s furnishings shop. Tom P. Masek is finishing a small brick building on the east side of Cirila avenue near Mutton and will add tailoring by Cromio Cirila avenue May 4 and 5. W Buck, a barber at 7217 Madison street, will move to the building now occupied by Masek.

Amusement park rides razed, park not reopening
Forest Park’s Artes amusement park will not reopen as the rides are razed and sold for materials. The ball room and some structures will remain for summer use while amusement features are moved to other locations such as St. Louis Detroit Beloit and several states. The park, once a paying proposition, has suffered slow business and the owners plan to clear 12 percent acres by October with several buyers assessing the site.
