About eighty attendees filled Community hall on Monday evening April 5 for the Liberty Loan drive to honor New Forest officers and workers. Speakers urged universal sacrifice, pledging wartime support, while noting American resolve and the need to fund the war effort.
A village meeting at the hall on Wednesday April 1 191k drew a crowd to back Thrift Stamp drives in Forest Park EL Wilt president of Husbend Alan's association urged unity and effort. The mayor warned that only decisive action and robust participation will meet the goals. Henry Buellenfeld outlined plans linking Thrift Stamps with Liberty Loan drives and a schedule for a Forest Park Theatre event on April 12 to support the effort.
The Associated Charities of Forest Park will hold its general meeting at 8:30 p.m. Thursday April 18 in the municipal building. A report on the charity’s work will be presented and a speaker from the Council of Defense will discuss home charities. Mrs Emma Bhaover of Pleasant City Iowa invites relatives in Forest Park to attend.

Two surprise showers were given in honor of Miss Alma Dammann at her sister Mrs Weaelys home on 208 Eigin avenue on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Dammann will wed Arthur Museke on Sunday April 21 1918. Evening guests were Miss Hanna Meneke and other girl friends of Alma Dammann with Miss Meneke as hostess. Refreshments were served and games played. Alma received many beautiful presents.
Forest Park Public Library hosts a three day Local Food Exhibit from April 24 to 26 with cooking demos by Mrs J I Bonner a Weldley College graduate. Wednesday evening features Mins Hwy Rauth a household economy educator. Talks on food production by Ailes Hetear Hialston and Brn Bilwood Mattwon. Free admission urged attendance.
Maywood Lodge No. 185 International Association of Machinists hosts the nineteenth annual ball at Forest Park Ball Room Congo Amusement Park on Saturday evening April 18 1918. The event promises a springtime dance and a festive crowd. attendees are urged to don their Buster bonnets and enjoy the evening as in past county fairs.

Parent-Teacher association benefit lecture set for April 16 at Madison Circle theatre.
