Lucky Day Sales Kick Off Friday in Forest Park
Forest Park merchants slash prices for a two day Lucky Day Sale starting Friday the 13th with big savings on many items. The event continues Saturday with extra features for children including the 1st Annual Easter Egg Decorating contest at Peaslee Hardware at 2 p.m. Prizes are $5 for first, $3 second, $2 third, plus $1 prizes for fifteen others and sugar cookies for all entrants. A black cat costumed clown will roam the streets of Forest Park both days greeting youngsters with treats from the chamber of commerce.

Bells Across Nation Day Planned by Legion Auxiliary
The American Legion plans Nationwide Bells of Liberty for Patriots Day April 19 to mark four minutes starting at noon. Legion Auxiliary backs the effort urging church and school bells to join in a patriotic demonstration and listeners to renew the Pledge of Allegiance.

Dugan Styve Injured When Car Strikes Parked Vehicle
Dugan Styve of 7537 Jackson sustained four stitches in the chin and three in the tongue after an early Sunday morning accident. At 3 40 a m he attempted to park on Ferdinand Avenue near his home, sprang the accelerator instead of the brake, drove into a parked car, rolled over three lawns, and ended against a porch at 629 Ferdinand.
