USO Cake Drive Friday Supports In Service Men
The Legion Auxiliary and Forest Park volunteers organize a bake sale style drive to provide 200 cakes pies coffee cakes to the USC Center in Chicago for men in service. Henry Desens and the Eagles support 35 to 40 cakes. William Leeseberg pledges four. Donations arrive by Friday evening or before 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hall. Trucks transport the goods to the USO at noon Saturday.

Three Stitches Peggy Fitzgerald Involved In Circle Crash
Peggy Fitzgerald of 044 Circle reportedly lost control Sunday and struck a parked car in the 800 block on Circle. Police took her to Oak Park hospital where three stitches were required to close a deep cut over her left eye.

A man asking for the book Peter Cottontail befriended clerk Mrs. Judy Marvinac, then left after a brief conversation and purchase. Police describe a 45-50 year old man, about 5'10", 180 pounds.
