Revision of Junior College Study Moves Forward

A special meeting at Proviso East High School discussed future steps toward a community college and technical institute. The steering and citizens committees from Elmwood Park Leyden and Proviso recommended hiring Dr Frank Fadicott to digest the prior study and revise it to include the three districts with a completion target between May 1 and May 15 for civic groups to review the findings.

Forest Park Little League Moms Meet Tonight

The Forest Park Womens Auxiliary of Little League Baseball meets tonight at 8 p.m. in the Park Building. Members and supporters may attend as games are played and refreshments served. Pat Tedeschi presides with Rosemary Kallath named vice president for the term until next August election.

John Sallee Dies in Village Auto Crash

John Sallee 38, active in Forest Park church and school circles, died after a 1963 Oldsmobile struck his 1957 Volkswagen at Roosevelt and Circle Sunday night. Richard Arendt, 37, of Chicago, charged with running a red light and reckless homicide. Sallee lived at 422 Ferdinand with wife Cora and three children. he was a School Board candidate and choir director for 14 years. He worked as a computer systems consultant for the Wurlitzer Co.

Senior Citizens Club Plans Songfest at Next Meeting

The Senior Citizens club will hold a songfest at its next meeting on Tuesday. Last Tuesday the club hosted a successful white elephant sale. On April 30 the public school choir will perform a musical program for the seniors. Meetings are every Tuesday at the Park Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Coffee and rolls are served. The group welcomes anyone aged 60 or over.

Apartment Burglary on Ferdinand Apts Probed

Jewelry trading stamps and coins were taken from an apartment at 806 Ferdinand Saturday night. A witness saw two teenage boys exit the building and drive away in a late model Chevrolet.

Sacrificial Breakfast For Methodist Women at Forest Park

A Sacrificial Breakfast will be served at Forest Park Methodist Church on Maundy Thursday at 10 am. Before the meal there is a 15 minute silent meditation in the Sanctuary followed by a missionary speaker with extensive Africa experience. All interested women are invited.
