Voters confront a tight finish as Oakland faces a decisive outcome with leaders still in doubt. A sealed ballot box was found in the Harlem State Savings Bank lobby, raising questions about counting and security as the final week concludes.
A chaotic candidate field floods the Review with talk of victory and now or never. Voter engagement rises as contenders including Keeling and Cuburg rally for the clock to strike eight Saturday night when the prize automobile awaits. Chief John Priest of the Green department is home ill with the flu, delaying campaign actions.
Joseph P. Carolan emerges as a local candidate for county commissioner. A former Oak Park High star and Harlem Tigern standout, he gained early fame in the community and was appointed superintendent soon after leaving school.
A historical notice describes a young man linked to multiple clubs and a political family. He served eight visits with the Foray Trower and was connected to Shore Athlete club, Maywood Golf club, and Mast and late. Morning worship at the church features special music led by Mrs Dvork and choirs. At St Pauls Lutheran the Rev Westing will be assisted as the choir sings and communion is offered. Reformed Lutheran church holds a morning service in English at 10:80 with new adult members and fourteen catechetical students receiving communion for the first time. A prize is awarded to Sunday school children.
W Hlla G Hall on Cicely avenue filed a petition for a school board seat. The board met to receive petitions and announced two members will be elected. Nominees include George Wilcox for president and Henry Strunk for member. Election set for April 14 at schoolhouses. Leslie J Smith seeks member spot at Forest Park school board replacing John Miller.
Local boosters at Mudie Street and Thutiuk host meetings and elect officers led by president Mifrent I. Winterrott and vice president Lawrence BeNvil. They praise Roos for legislative work, urge his election, and highlight road and street projects supported by the group amid Springfield lobbying.
Irwin F. Witt named district manager for the Cicero Berwyn area of the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois. He will oversee operations in Cicero Berwyn Oak Park and nearby towns from headquarters at 6020 Twenty second Street.
The Acacia club announces an installation event at the office of the club on Britay street April Mth with George Hadley as head and no entertainment program. Entertainers will include Munsey's urches, the Exkitio and Millplae man Allitis who recently performed at Ki waouls.
The secretary says a women's meeting will be held at the Forest Park American Legion hall on Tuesday April 6 at 2 40 p m. The event plans to feature several prominent women as speakers and invites all women voters to attend.
Women and a sprinkling of men attended a Forest Park meeting featuring Arthur A. Huebsch, Republican candidate for county treasurer, who spoke on party issues and representation while addressing accusations of wet territory influence. Crowe, state’s attorney, addressed the Forest Park Pleasure Club, praising convictions and denouncing registration irregularities ahead of the April 27 meetings.
Village meeting ends with sharp exchanges as Souhrada and Healy dispute legality of a petition to switch from village to commission form of government. Officials discuss court action and whether to proceed if petition stands, with comments about pole yard relocation and legality.
Mr and Mrs Charlen Mulwerin hosted twenty four guests at Miner and Sepper Sunday in honor of their son Bun Henry who was confirmed at 1 Tetera Lutheran Church earlier in the day. Postmaster and Mrs Henry Malvarn, grandparents of the bun, were among the guests.
