Happy Party Enjoys Deer Hunt at Hanahan Club
Mr. Ross Hanahan of Charleston hosted a weekend deer hunting party in his 5500 acre Hanahan Club west of Charleston. Guests J. W. Matheny Forest City Walter Gibson Campobello Ed Houser Clover and two Hanahan family members hunted for two days, killing three deer with Walter Gibson the only shooter to bring one down. The party rode horses between square plots, dogs chased deer, and afternoon visits covered Charleston culture and Washington era sites. The city’s 90,000 population and friendly reception were noted.

Brakeman Injured in Southern Yards
Mr. L. D. Stephens, brakeman for the Southern Railway Company, was severely injured in the local yards Wednesday morning while coupling cars. Caught between two cars, he suffered serious lacerations on both legs but no broken bones. He received first aid and was later placed on a train to Rock Hill to enter a hospital.
