Draper the prominent architect and engineer of Charlotte and Atlanta is authorized to plan a new 2000 acre model town on Lake Lure shore in Rutherford County. The project includes a 75 foot wide highway through the center, a grand waterfront with hotel and casino, and 1000 acres of residential areas facing the lake. Lake Lure hydroelectric plants are expected to generate 18 million KWh annually.
