Ellenboro, June 22. Walker informs Forest City Courier readers how Rutherford County grand jurors at the last term of court voted on a new courthouse. Five favored building a new structure while thirteen opposed it, with two in favor of repairing the old courthouse for a small cost and using it for several years.
The Fairview column reports a light Thursday shower drying the ground, visits among families in the Mooresboro area, and an upcoming ice cream supper at Fairview school on June 27. The item notes Mrs Julius Joney on the sick list and a rental ad for two five room residences in Forest City.
Johnstone H. Quinan formerly of Rutherfordton now living in Miami Florida is touring Europe. A card last week reported a wonderful time in the Netherlands and a letter from Antwerp says he is heading to Paris and will eventually visit Italy.
At a June 12 1925 meeting the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of Forest City North Carolina enacted an ordinance extending street and sidewalk assessment payments from five to ten years. The plan allows ten equal payments with the first due upon adoption of the assessment roll, adjusting the timetable for those paying the charges.

The Rutherford County North Carolina board of appraisers reports on Powell street extension in Forest City. They list damages to property owners led by M J Harrill and J F McBrayer with amounts. report dated June 15 1925 and confirmed by Town Council June 22 1925. Attested by Clerk J E Caldwell with four paragraphs of certification.
