Reminiscences of Dixie War Years and Love in 1863
In 1863 the Civil War shadows Dixie with volunteers deserters and Home Guard moral support. Annie and Mattie, now friends, labor at spinning bees while Bill Sniffles bears a missing hand and leads a home guard horse raid plan. William, Annie, and Charles uncover a Hanging Dog Rock conspiracy led by Pope Ganes and Sid as they prepare a raid to capture the plotters.
