Lang Defies Speaker in Budget Debate Turbulence
In a heated Legislative Assembly session Mr Lang clashed with the Speaker over remarks about government corruption and Mr Stevens. The Premier urged rapid passage of the Appropriation Bill to finish the Budget debate, but Lang resisted and a division followed, 41 to 19, as accusations shifted to alternate targets and calls for withdrawal.

Water Conservation Wall Near Lachlan River Progress
Construction of the Wyan wall on the Lachlan headwaters advances with about 230 men on site. Completion expected by June 1935, with 15000 height reached in places and the dam stretching 1100 feet. Concrete placed totals around 102100 cubic yards of 280000 planned, at an estimated cost of £1561,000 funded by government migration role. Capacity will be 134 million cubic feet, 306000 acre feet, area 6700 acres, depth 185 feet. Water stored will supplement Lachlan irrigation and aid a new wheat area near Matakana with part diverted for domestic supply.

The Melbourne Cup excursion tickets priced at 4 shillings 10 pence first class 1 pound 17 shillings 0 pence second class 1 pound first class and 8 shillings 16 pence second class return will be issued to Melbourne by train from Forbes at 4:45 pm on Thursday October 27 via Blayney and Harden.
