Novel Money Raising Schemes For Forbes District Hospital
A public meeting convened by Mayor Byrnes at Forbes Town Hall discussed multiple fundraising ideas for Forbes District Hospital. Plans include entry-fee sports and social events, a Mount Euron trip with a 1200 foot climb, house party contributions of £2 6s each from about 100 residents, school stamp competitions, and broader district drives as hospital funds run low. Chairman Ford and Board members urged immediate local support, noting the Hospital Commission funds are exhausted and upkeep costs run about £300 monthly. The meeting sought committees to organize country and town efforts, with hopes of engaging Wirringa, Trundle, Bogan Gate, and Bogowie centres, and underscored the need for public confidence and participation.
