Arthur S Parrand 62 of Forbes district dies in hospital

Arthur Stanley Parrand a lifelong Forbes resident aged 62 died in the District Hospital after five weeks in an institution. He was a single man, son of Mrs J B Parrand of Pel Farm. His sister Marlon died in 1915 from injuries after a horse accident. The funeral, at 10 o clock, will be at the Church of England section of the local cemetery with Mr A G O Jones in charge.

A Proctor Percival air ambulance plane bound for Forbes was delayed in Darwin as customs could not process the receipt or duty paperwork. The Polish-born pilot Hans ium could not produce required documents for the machine, hindering clearance.

Youth Arrested On Stealing Charge In Parish Ball

A large number of youths were questioned after a parish ball incident involving money and jewellery. Twelve boys were placed in transport arrangements to Forbes and then to the second Anglican youth camp at Orange. The Padre addressed a gathering on Homes and Youth work, and a donation of 10 was presented by Mr. Evan James on behalf of A. members.

A public meeting convened by the Mayor and Alderman F Conridge endorses forming a Forbes Aero Club. The group aims to foster social activity, arrange entertainments, and affiliate with the Central Western Aero Club Parkes for flying training.
