Empire Day Celebrated by Forbes Public Schools at Strand Theatre
About seven to eight hundred students gathered for Empire Day at the Strand Theatre on a May 4 observance. Under headmaster M Levy the event featured student led addresses and performances, including a piano solo by Studiart and remarks by Nenecy Griffith on Empire values. Joe Weston spoke on what the Empire means, citing its reach from Arctic to Antarctic and the role of liberty and justice in its strength. A Goodwill Message from New South Wales youths and a segment on how children can aid the Empire followed, emphasizing loyalty, community service, and world peace.
