Floresville PTA invites families to a safer Halloween at Floresville Elementary School on October 31. Activities include a costume parade cup cake walk moonwalk dunking booth hay rides and kids games with prizes. Proceeds may benefit the FISD Special Needs Activity Fund.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday October 1 1997 for the 53rd Pea Nut Festival Coronation at Conoly Herry Dragit Dowhitown Floresville. The coronation is Thursday October 9 1997 at Wuey Seale Auditorium Floresville. Floresville PTA meets October 2 1997 at 7 00 pm in Floresville Elementary Servatorium with Cecilia Stark and 4 H Club guests and the Floresville Middle School Drama Club performing a skit.
The Wilson County Soil and Water Conservation District in Floresville urges residents to order fish for stock ponds. Contact Elsie at 1106 Tenth Street or call (830) 393-3555 to place orders, especially after recent rains.

On Saturday September 27 1997 the Cub Scouts Pack 393 Boy Scout Troop 393 and Wilson County Sheriffs Department offer free child fingerprinting from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in front of Wal Mart on Highway 181 Floresville Texas. The service helps identify children in case of disappearance and invites parents to bring their child.

An election for Wilson County Soil and Water Conservation District Zone 5 director is set for October 3 at 1100 a.m. the NRCS office in Floresville. Voters must own agricultural land in Wilson County and reside there. candidates must own land in the district, be 18 or older, and actively farm or ranch. Directors serve four-year terms. Zone five covers a defined county area.
A new 4400 square foot addition to Hoelscher Furniture Store on Hwy 181 Floresville is underway with completion expected by end of October 1997. Foundation is finished and roof and walls will go up in two to three weeks. The project connects to the existing building and doubles show space. General contractor is Bob Byrd.
