Court of Southern Traditions on the Road to Peanut Festival
The Court of Southern Traditions toured San Antonio City Hall to promote the 38th Peanut Festival. Mayor Henry Cisneros and the City Council welcomed the King, Queen, and Court, who distributed peanut brittle bags with peanut shaped invitations and shared a ceremonial hat moment before Cisneros presented a signed proclamation.

Floresville honors safety and service records winners
Emil Baumann and Maximo Flores of the SDHPT Floresville maintenance section were recognized for outstanding service and safety records. District Engineer Raymond Stotzer and Supervising Resident Engineer Edgar Ramey presented Baumann a 35 year meritorious service certificate. Flores, a senior light equipment operator and Wilson County native, served as a Corporal in Japan during 1945-46 and has spent most of his life in the county. He is married to Wendelin Maria and has two daughters. The district safety officer Tim Mercer and team run ongoing accident prevention programs with monthly safety meetings, equipment inspections, and hazard checks reducing injuries and tax costs.

Beef Production Short Course To Be Offered
A Beef Production Short Course for adult farmers will be held October 18 19 20 and 21 1982 under the sponsorship of the Floresville High School Vocational Agriculture Department.
