4-H Information Day and Show Pig Clinic in Wilson County
Wilson County 4-H hosts Information Day on September 22 at the Showbarn starting 10:00 am for members and families. A Show Pig Selection and Feeding Clinic follows on October 6 at 11:00 am. Market animal validations occur in early October and November with specific dates for steers lambs and hogs. Floresville Musical Club Fiesta Reception Marks 70th Year
The Floresville Musical Club hosted a September 9 1990 Fiesta Reception at the Reed home to honor seventy years of advancing musical education and arts appreciation. Guests entered via a brick walkway as Mrs E F Woolsey received by club president Mrs Joseph Uhlig and others, with a 1990 guestbook by Sr M Dart Rush. The event featured fiesta decor, a fajita and fruit menu, cake served in the dining room, and village band music, with numerous club members assisting in hospitality and decoration.

Floresville High School Sends Progress Reports and Tutoring
Floresville High School will mail progress reports to parents in the fourth week of each six week period. Tutorial sessions run 7:45 to 8:10 a.m. on Tue Wed and Thu, with afternoon tutoring 3:35 to 4 p.m. on Tue Wed and Thu. Teacher lesson plans can be duplicated on request to inform testing, assignments, and due dates.

Floresville TAS Meeting on TAAS Test Information
Floresville High School will hold an open meeting on Monday September 24 to inform parents about the TAAS test for ninth and eleventh graders on October 16 7 and 18. The state requires mastery on all three Exit Level sections for graduation. eleventh graders failing October will have three more opportunities. The session also outlines a parent child program focused on improving relationships and communication with four series beginning September. Capacity is limited to 12 per class with several openings.
