Floresville School District Shifts To Off-Duty Officers

Floresville schools will use off-duty contract officers for campus safety after the district declined a city police funding request. The city proposed raising the district’s contribution from about 48 500 to 70 000 dollars. Superintendent David Vinson said short term safety remains, while a district security review will provide options before the next board meeting. City officers will respond as needed to felony or serious threats, while classroom discipline remains handled by campus personnel.
