County Line Community Band Christmas Concert
The County Line Community Band performs its annual Christmas Concert December 10 2000 at the Longhorn Museum Pleasanton Texas at 3pm. They present White Christmas Coventry Carol Here Comes Santa Claus Silent Night and more. A second event is set for December 2 1pm to 2pm at Dilworth Plaza Poth Texas during Christmas Along The Corridor. Another show December 17 at Wal-Mart Pleasanton benefits the Family Crisis Center.

Wal-Mart Supports Local Sheriff Santa Program Donation Event
Floresville Wal-Mart will donate a portion of Saturday December 2 sales from 7:00 am to noon to the Sheriff’s Santa Program. This marks the tenth year of Wal-Mart’s nationwide local charity drive. Floresville associates chose the Sheriff’s Santa Program for its community impact. Wal-Mart began holiday giving in 1991 and also partners with the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. Last year Wal-Mart’s holiday gifts to local nonprofits exceeded $5.1 million.

12th Annual Pony Express Christmas Along The Corridor
The 12th annual Pony Express Christmas Along the Corridor is set for Saturday December 2 2000 on Floresville Courthouse Square from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Activities include a Pony Express postal cancellation 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Santa Claus arrival 10:30 to 12:30, giveaways, live music, and performances by Lone Star Fiddlers Erin Jones Dancers and more. Local sites include Wilson County Jailhouse Museum, Dewees Remschel House with a cancellation station, and a tour meet with National Park Service ranger at City River Park. Participating towns cover a wide area including San Antonio Floresville Stockdale Poteet Pleasanton Jourdanton and Goliad among others. Donations at the door support activities. prize drawings offer a free turkey and ham.
