Stockdale and Poth Soon to Get Lights
Spruce, manager of Lone Star State Power Co., announced that three car loads of electric light poles are being unloaded for the Floresville to Stockdale high power line, with two car loads already set between Floresville and Stockdale. The company plans a diesel engine of at least 200 HP to support Floresville and outgoing lines, plus other improvements to enhance service.

Illness Ends Lavernia Bank Leader Wiseman
W. M. Wiseman vice president of Lavernia State Bank and a renowned local figure died about 5 am after several days critical illness in San Antonio. He fell ill during a hunting trip near Pearsall with W. E. Tewes and Phil Sorell, was moved home, and fevered reports followed until the death. Funeral arrangements were to be announced in Lavernia Sunday.

Cotton crop estimate falls from prior forecast
Washington reports the Department of Agriculture estimates this year's cotton production at about 15,298,000 equivalent 500 pound bales, down from a forecast 15,386,000. Last year yielded 13,627,936 bales. Ginnings prior to Nov 14 reached 12,249,985 running bales, with indications of a lint yield near 165.5 pounds per harvested acre, versus 166.4 earlier and 157.4 last year.
