Local High School Students Named To Legion's Boys State
Floresville high school students Sherman Wesley Baker Jr and Mark Anthony Perez were chosen to attend the 1985 Texas American Legion Boys State session at the University of Texas in Austin from June 8 to 14. Floresville Post No. 38 Commander E L Risley announced the selections and praised Floresville High School staff and Norma Drozd for their support in this youth training program.

The Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance Association held its 93rd annual convention on May 7 at the Civic Center in New Braunfels. Delegates from across the state, about 400 people, attended. amendments to the constitution were adopted and district directors with expiring terms were elected. Pre-registration occurred May 6 with many delegates visiting beforehand. The association, founded in 1892, traces its roots in Yoakum.
