Library Summer Reading Club celebrates Texas in Floresville
After 9 A.M. on June 2 1986 the Sam Fore Jr Wilson County Public Library invites children to join the 1986 Summer Reading Club co sponsored by the library and the Texas State Library. Participants receive a Celebrate Texas reading log and bookmark and earn a Certificate of Participation after reading 10 books. For more information call 393 2886.

Kimberly Ann Randall Awarded The John Philip Sousa Band Award
Kimberly Ann Randall receives the John Philip Sousa Band Award for outstanding musical merit and conduct. She has led the Floresville Band program since sixth grade, competed on trombone and bassoon, served as corps commander, earned All-District and All-Regional honors, and qualified for state solo and ensemble competition. She also performed with the Lions of Texas All State Band and with the Teltschik Family Band at local events.

The Floresville Chamber of Commerce will host its annual formal banquet on Thursday June 5 at the KC Hall. Social hour begins at 7 PM followed by dinner at 8 PM featuring stuffed rib-eye steak.
