Floresville High School student Vernon Haverlah will attend the 1969 Texas American Legion Boys State at the University of Texas in Austin from June 7 to June 14. The program trains youths in state and local government with future plans for Boys Nation in Washington.

County Health Board Meets Here May 23
The Wilson County Board of Health held its regular quarterly meeting with luncheon at Wrights Cafe Floresville at 12 30 p m Friday May 23 1969. Dr Ridge presided as Dr Grover reported on reportable diseases and control work while Miss Artus detailed county health activities and an increase in tuberculosis treatments. Five children were referred for state medical care or surgery and 25 crippled children receive care through the health department.
