Pandora Votes Against School Consolidation
In a special election held in Pandora on May 22 voters rejected consolidation with Nixon Independent School District. Pandora cast 30 votes for consolidation and 69 against. An election was held in Nixon on the same day on the proposal, but results were not learned.

Scattered Rains Bring Some Help to Wilson County Crops
Rain fell in parts of Wilson County boosting some crops while others lacked moisture. Floresville saw 0.24 inches on Wednesday and 0.05 inches the day before, with similar amounts north of Stockdale and in La Vernia Sutherland Springs. West near Pairview and Black Hill received around 1 inch, while Three Oaks Dewees Kasper area stayed cooler and cloudy. Crops remain at risk without broader rainfall. Black-eyed peas look promising and melons are forming despite reduced acreage. Maize and feed crops stay fairly well but still need moisture.
