A large Floresville crowd filled the high school auditorium for commencement and baccalaureate services. 41 graduates received diplomas as Rev. Wm. F. Kraushaar delivered the sermon from Hebrews 12 1 2 with Mrs E F Woolsey Jr and local clergy participating in the program. The occasion featured a processional, class colors pink blue and white decorations and a strong sense of community pride.

Thirty four enthusiastic boys and girls received certificates of promotion from the Grammar School to High School at a highly enjoyable program held in the high school auditorium Friday evening. A large crowd attended as L Chance, principal, directed the event with all students delivering performances that drew applause and praise.

Fire destroys large barn at Jim McDaniel Ranch
A large barn on the Jim McDaniel ranch below Path was destroyed by fire last week around noon. The barn was filled with alfalfa hay and work harness plus other articles were lost. Mr. McDaniel and his son Hunter found the blaze, which spread quickly in the dry conditions. Origin of the fire remains unknown.

Real Program Of Soil Conservation In Wilson County
In observance of Texas Soil Conservation Week proclaimed by Governor O Daniel, Tom C Morris of the Soil Conservation Service announced that 121 farmers in the Wilson County area have installed or are establishing soil and water conservation farming systems on 31726 acres. The farmers have retired from cultivation about 4000 acres, with some areas so eroded they had to be set aside for conservation efforts.

F F A Boys Enjoy Outing At Mathis Lake
