The German Amusement Club hosts a dance May 28 in Poth with Spencer's band. The Herman Sons plans a dance at their Poth hall on Saturday night June 2 with Floresville W. O. W. Band providing music. all Herman Sons and friends invited.
Congress adopts the Selective Conscription Act and the President designates Registration Day for June 5, 1917. All male residents of Wilson County aged 21 to 30 must register between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. at their local precincts, with certain exclusions for military personnel. The notice lists precincts and designated chiefs for registration sites, naming communities such as Kosciusko Calaveras Three Oaks Fairview and more, with multiple local officials assigned to each precinct.
A fragmentary notice mentions a Tuesday May 15 event inviting Misses Zora Belle and others to a slumber party.
On Wednesday morning at the home of Rev and Mrs Carl the ceremony united their second daughter with Mr Phillips, a prominent young educator from Sealy Texas. After the service the couple left by train for Sealy to begin married life. The bride wore a gray taffeta going away suit embroidered in white with gray and white accessories. A Friend.

Roberto Salas and Antonio Salas face murder charges with a 60 member venire ordered for trial on June 2. Anton Bahuslav murder case proceeds with venue motions amid days of testimony and many out of town witnesses.

Mrs R H Johnson presents a public music class at the opera house on May 29 evening. The program invites all residents to attend with warm invitation extended.
