E C Clark Myers aged 59, a former Floresville resident, died suddenly at his Schulenburg home at 1 00 am Wednesday morning after a period of ill health. Relatives in Floresville were informed, Myers was one of Floresville’s early Dienes families and his brothers B M and C B Myers survive.

Roland Williams 43 Dies Suddenly in Sutherland Springs
Roland Williams 43 of Sutherland Springs died while walking near the post office on Thursday May 15 about 4 PM. A doctor and an inhalator were called but efforts to revive him failed. He was buried Monday at 3 PM in the Methodist Church with Rev. Sterling Wheeler presiding. He left a son Roland Williams Jr and was survived by relatives in Sutherland Springs and Chicago. He once managed Rural Telephone Company locally. The Chronicle-Journal offers condolences to the family.

Two San Antonio Men Escape Floresville Jail
Wilson County sheriff reports two San Antonio men escaped from Floresville jail early Monday. Joe Townsley and Roy Jesse, both convicted burglary suspects, fled their cell between midnight and 2 AM using a pass key or similar method. Townsley is 5 feet 11 inches, 154 pounds with dark brown hair and ruddy complexion. Jesse, also Leroy Jesse, is 5 feet 9 inches, 130 pounds with light chestnut hair grey eyes and a ruddy complexion. San Antonio officers, including Detective Buck Haddox, were alerted and on the lookout.
