Special Awards At Assembly For Pleasanton High Students
Pleasanton High students received multiple awards at a recent assembly. Clara Reed won a basketball medal as all tournament selection, Ruthie Arnold earned two medals for all tournament guard and high-point in Pleasanton, Edwin Flieller earned a scholarship loyalty and achievement medal, and several girls won second place district volleyball ribbons. Martha Wing and Clara Reed were given gold volleyballs, Majorvettés Barbara Carson Jeannie Russell and Herta Dean Blake presented three trophies for display, and regional band and Flax Festival parade honors were added to the trophy case. Clara Reed, volleyball captain, presented a district meet trophy. Coach Ralph Starnes awarded gold track shoes to lettermen Kenneth Brown Dean Herring Robert Cardenas Richard Ullmann Reynaldo Puniga.
