A Field Day hosted by the Farm Security Administration showcased practical demonstrations including making grain mush from cornmeal ground in a maize mill, cooking in a pressure cooker, and tomato canning. Attendees learned about frame gardens, barrel milk coolers, trench silos, and poultry flock culling. About 100 people attended with speeches by Sam Fore Jr and organizers F W Roeder J W Black Jr Myrtie Montgomery and LaVerne Bill.

A. D. Richardson Sunnyside farmer to represent Wilson County at District 5 meeting in Kenedy on Monday as 50 counties appoint a State Board member. Four precinct committee members were named at a court house meeting after precinct gatherings Friday. County Soil Conservation Committee members elected May 19 include Precinct 1 A. D. Work Well Under Way On Sewer Project

Sheriff Boothe Back In Hospital After Operation

Speakers Praise Extension Service At Dewees Meeting
The 25th anniversary of the Smith Lever Act creating the National Extension Service was celebrated at Dewees School on May 10. About 200 Wilson County farm men and women attended as County Agent F. C. Elliott and Home Demonstration Agent Miss Fannie Sue Brasuel directed arrangements. Representatives from nearly every home demonstration club joined in the program under Miss Bragnel's leadership. 4-H Club members also participated alongside older residents. A. D. Floresville annual senior class play directed by Miss May Wray was presented Friday evening in the high school auditorium. A large appreciative audience enjoyed the clever performers as laughter and plot twists kept the crowd engaged. After expenses and commencement speakers’ costs, about 739 was allocated for furnishing the new Homemaking Cottage.

On Thursday May 11 Floresville marked the dedication of an $8,000 Home Economics Cottage funded by R L Eschenburg and the Works Progress Administration. The facility, fully equipped under the Smith Hughes act, features a kitchen, sewing room, furnished living spaces, and gas heating. About 1,000 attendees heard remarks from Supt. Conn and Emmett L. Whitsett, with performances by the Floresville Band and student recitations. The dedication highlighted community support and the Eschenburg family's contribution.
