A revival anticipated under Rev. Geo Harris of Cal Allen aims to unite attendees in advance. Harris, noted as a strong singer organizer and preacher, invites everyone to attend all services and help ensure the revival’s success.
The Mothers Club postpones the recital and medal contest set for tonight to tomorrow night due to unforeseen events. The event remains the same in format with participants from local groups expected to perform and compete for medals.
The Baptist Church will hold morning preaching by the Pastor on the topic The Whole Duty of Man. There will be no evening service due to a lecture at the opera house by Dr. J W Dickinson of San Antonio. Richardson's Art Goods John Griffith Co big stock.
Governor Thomas Mitchell Campbell of Palestine and former Texas governor and U S Senate candidate will address Floresville voters at the opera house next Wednesday night May 24 at 8 p m. Local admirers report plans for a large reception and a strong turnout from nearby towns. The talk aims to rally support for Campbell before the July primary.
The Floresville Mothers Club will hold its final meeting of the year at the club rooms next Thursday at 4 o'clock. It will be a business session followed by a social hour. All members are urged to attend. Hostesses will be Grif W. Rhode J., Grif J.J. He.

Philathaeas held their monthly class with Miss Alma Beckmeyer at Dr Laura Beckmeyer home on May 12 1916. They express hope Miss McNacken will report a good lesson for all. The afternoon included a pleasant hour and refreshments.
The Presbyterian Church schedules May 21 services with morning sermon on Christs Four-fold View of His Church and an evening sermon titled The Souls Quest for Permanency. Both services invite all, with Pastor R. E. Hardin and guest W. F. Donaho from Sutherland Springs visiting Monday.
Wilson County received the best rain in months with Wednesday showers turning to a steady drizzle and heavy bursts overnight. Reportes from nearly every section indicate a countywide relief as conditions eased after a prolonged dry spell across South Texas.
The Chaparral Club held a porch meeting last Thursday naming Neil Irvin as President Myrtle Moore Vice President Aline Gorham Secretary Stella Tullos Treasurer Vada Cone Club Reporter and an Initiation Committee. Guests enjoyed sweets and cake and a Palace of Sweets treat. A Baylor University graduation invitation noted as well as a May 16 dinner set prize.
The Florenceville High School term ends today and tonight the commencement exercises will be held at the opera house. Eight bright young women and four splendid young men compose the graduating class, one of the largest in several years. Rev. Geo M Boyd of Uvalde will speak. The program promises to be enjoyable and a packed house is expected.
The Floresville Cemetery Association met with Mrs. Joe A. Poston on Friday to discuss dues and meeting plans. Members agreed to contribute at each meeting and invite absentees to participate. A strawberry ice cream and angel food cake reception followed. The next gathering is at Mrs. Will Rhode’s home on the second Friday in June at 4 p.m. Progres 49 was noted as entertainment, with music and games. Theo Wolters of Schleury visited Floresville Friday. he is father of Hon. Jake Wolters of Houston.
