Up to last night Floresville and Poth had shipped 87 carloads of onions and expect more if rain does not come in a day or two. Most shipments are from irrigated lands along the San Antonio River near Poth with Floresville at 45 cars and Poth at 42. Prices hover around 4 cents per pound as demand stays strong. A rain would likely bring additional carloads for the growers.

Ross Lawhon Named Sanitary Inspector for Bexar County
City and son of the late Luther A Lawhon has been appointed sanitary inspector by the Bexar County Commissioners Court. Recommended by County Judge Charles Anderson, Lawhon previously worked with Anderson as a soda fountain clerk. He was active in Arkansas politics before moving to San Antonio and served as Mayor of North Little Rock, county judge of Arkansas County, and later postmaster of that city.
