The 1952 Floresville High School class will hold a baccalaureate service Sunday night May 18 at 8 at the high school auditorium. Rev. Ralph H. Seiler of Aldersgate Methodist Church San Antonio will deliver the sermon. The program includes processional invocation songs scripture reading and benediction by local pastors and choir.

Floresville high school gym hosted the Floresville School Band under Director Fritz Teltschik for a well received final appearance of the term. The program showcased band numbers and challenging pieces with strong timing and technique. Teltschik praised the 1952 band as among his best disciplined groups, drawing applause from a large audience and collectors contributed over $100 through a free will offering.

Four H FFA boys in Wilson County have submitted 25 entries for the Peanut Production Contest. With a required minimum of 50 contestants, the event risks cancellation unless more entries arrive. Jaeggli Ships First Onions From Floresville
The firm Jaeggli and Son of Moulton and Floresville loaded the first two cars of 1952 onions from Floresville on Tuesday night. The Red Creole variety went to St Louis via Southern Pacific Route. The crop is short this year but they hope to ship about 16 cars. Cucumbers are expected to move soon by Knox Cochran Company of Hudson Michigan after signing 175 acres here. Cold nights and drought slowed the crop but local rep Ted Cisneros expects a fair yield. Good reports come from many black eyed pea fields across the county with rain hoped to revive that crop.
