Soil Stewardship Week Observed In Wilson County 1982
Wilson County Soil and Water Conservation District joins the national Soil Stewardship Week May 16 to 23 1982. Harold Jarutowicz says the theme is A Time for Tenacity highlighting soil water and resource conservation. The district organized in 1940 to provide technical assistance to farmers ranchers and the community. Information and materials are available from the SCS Floresville office at 393 3555.

Wilson County Leads Texas in 49 Percent Voter Turnout
Wilson County reports 5 039 Democrats in the May 1 primary, 47.6 percent of the county’s 10 586 registered voters, surpassing statewide turnout. Including 133 Republican ballots raises the county total to 5 172 voters, about 49 percent of registrations. Kosciusko box records 224 Democrats out of 286 registrants, a 76 percent turnout boosted by Albert Pruski’s candidacy for Commissioner, Precinct No. 2. A Texas State Comptroller representative will be in Wilson County Courthouse May 20 from 9 a.m. to noon to answer tax questions.
