Jaeggli Elected Wilson County Historical Chair
At the Wilson County Historical Survey Committee meeting on May 8 Mr. J Te Jaeggli of Floresville was elected chair, replacing Velma West who resigned. The group set monthly meetings at 2 30 p m and plans a Wilson County Historical museum in Stockdale for the festival, La Vernia for the July 4th event, and Floresville for the Peanut Festival. Soil Stewardship Week runs May 16 23 with local observances and materials distributed to churches. The statewide effort is led by the Wilson County Soil and Water Conservation District and national associations assisting with program booklets and posters. The committee includes Rev Howard Schutt and other local church leaders.

Linda Sue Castro Named 1971 72 Duchess in Floresville
Linda Sue Castro daughter of Alfredo and Mrs Castro was chosen to represent Floresville as duchess for the peanut festival. She is a Floresville High junior serving as class president and vice president of the Future Homemakers of America, a Pep Squad member, and a Christian Youth Organization leader. She will attend Bluebonnet Girls State in Seguin this summer.
