Sisters Celebrate Fifth Anniversary in Floresville and Pleasanton
Arlene McTighe and Annette Maria mark five years of Sisters gift shops in Floresville and Pleasanton Texas. The Floresville site opened May 21 1990 with a June 9 1990 grand opening while a second store expanded to 3000 square feet in Pleasanton in February 1994. The sisters credit hometown hospitality and broad community support from Houston San Antonio and nearby towns.

Su Casa Opens in Floresville by New Owners
Irene Cergnal and partner Mario Ruiz launched Su Casa at 1011 3rd Street Floresville replacing Taco Hut across from the elementary school. The Mexican and American eatery operates 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday with plans to extend hours and consider catering as business grows.

Rabies Alert and Reunion Notice At Sutherland Springs
On April 25 1995 several second graders found a dead bat on a school playground and were advised to seek post exposure rabies treatment after tests by a Texas Health lab. Zoonosis Control in Uvalde can provide rabies education and information. The Sutherland Springs School Reunion is set for May 20 at the Community Building with a noon luncheon.

Tatsuo Howard, a Flores ville High School senior, has qualified for the Class 4-A state track meet in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles at Memorial Stadium, Austin.
