A positive screwworm case was confirmed in Wilson County on Saturday May 4 by County Agent W E Rippert. The worm was found in the wound of a castrated calf seven miles east of Floresville. Livestock Inspector Marvin Kohls planned to mark the farm for a fly drop once weather allows. Producers are urged to inspect herds, mail ten worms in a jar or vial to Mission Texas, and cooperate to prevent spread.
