Miss Monica Kay Flores traveled to Corpus Christi this weekend to represent Floresville at Buccaneer Days. She attended the Pirate Queen Contest for the Buccaneer Queen’s Commission, with contestants as guests of the New Christy Minstrels, riding in convertibles to the water front for the Dunking of the Mayor. Mr. and Mrs. I. D. Flores Jr and Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Hoelscher accompanied her for a weekend at Island House on Padre Island.
