Onion Shipments From Floresville And Poth Reach 143 Carloads
Up to Wednesday night a total of 48 carloads of onions had been shipped from Floresville and Poth. Poth shipped 100 cars and were loading about 12 more as Floresville shipments reached 43 cars with 15 on the tracks. The movement is brisk despite low prices. officials expect over 550 carloads from the county as heavy activity continues. Prices in Floresville averaged around 40 cents per 100 pounds for U S Commercials. Boilers were not wanted at any price.

Club Members Recreational Meet Recap at Johns Hall

Activities ran from 9:50 registration to 2:20 p.m. adjournment, including games, a noon picnic, and an afternoon folk activity as part of Wilson County Home Demonstration Council plans for county clubs.

The Kosciusko Red Sox defeated Kenedy 18 to 8 in a Bluebonnet League game last Sunday. Kosciusko had 12 hits, 5 walks, 10 strikeouts and 18 runs. Kenedy had 8 hits, 2 walks, 9 strikeouts and 8 runs. Marble Machine Owner Granted Temporary Restraining Order
A temporary restraining order was granted in the 81st district court by Judge B. Carr in the case J M Varnon vs George R Boothe regarding marble machines. Highway 97 progress reported between Floresville and Pleasanton
Construction workers from Fort Worth based Contractor unit report steady progress on Highway 97. In sixty days they moved about 30,000 yards of dirt and completed all concrete structures except the Borego bridge near the old Stevens ranch. Work also advances on the Atascosa county end.
