William Fowler 25 and Ray O Neal 21 were buried after their bodies were found in a Sabinal area dry creek bed near the San Antonio highway wreck. Funeral services were held in Pearsall for Mrs. John Merecka who died at her Divot home April 27 1946 after a four month illness. Born June 30 1910 in Yoakum she moved to Floresville then Divot where she resided thirteen years. Survived by husband and parents and several siblings. Father Alexander officiated at the Pearsall Catholic Church.

Outlook Uncertain As Onion Crop Starts Moving In Floresville
Uncertainty over price and production surrounds the 1946 onion harvest in Floresville and Poth. By April 27 Floresville shipped the first car, with 25 cars from Path and three more from Floresville by Tuesday night. Heavy rains and a flooded market slowed shipments, but the crop remains early this year. Vendors and buyers from Robstown Corpus Christi Weslaco Moulton and others have set up at shipping sheds along the Southern Pacific tracks, with J T Jaeggli Son and John Cosby among key operators. With favorable weather and a steadier market next week activity is expected to rise across the region.
