Representative farmers from every state will assemble in Washington on May 14 and 15 to thank President Roosevelt and Secretary Wallace for ag policy benefits. Texas has received over 88 million in payments from processing taxes aiding AAA programs. A 1000-farmers special train leaves San Antonio May 12 with 75 to 100 dollar costs per person. Wilson county selects five farmers to join the Texas Farmer Special to Washington.

In Austin on April 26 a second conference report kept the Centennial appropriation intact. The bill would allocate 250000 for land around the Alamo and 250000 for San Jacinto Battlefield buildings. Floresville high school auditorium hosted the senior class play to a large appreciative crowd. The college setting play featured football heroes and Greek life with Teltschik’s Orchestra providing music between acts. Stockdale Texas May 1. The Methodist Church is receiving 148 feet of concrete sidewalk and entrance steps funded by donated materials. The Stockdale vocational agriculture class, under W E Driskill, is performing the work to gain practical experience in concrete practice. The church campus is tiered and sodded with about four dozen new shrubs planted.

Rainfall Totals for Floresville Reach Over Twelve Inches
Floresville and nearby areas have received more than 12 inches of rainfall since January 1, 1935. Records from Alamo Lumber Co. and Mayor S. V. Houston show total rainfall of over 12 inches during four months and into April, with April alone bringing 3.64 inches. Wilson County’s annual rainfall stands at about 27 inches over nine months.
