Scouters urged to register for summer camping
SAN ANTONIO Scoutmasters and officials of the 15county Alamo Area Council urge troops to register for the 1968 camping season. Reservations show 150 troops signed up, versus 170 in 1967 when a record 3,178 Scouts attended. The nine week season runs June 28 to July 28 August 3 with Indian Creek Scout Camp at Ingram and Camp Friedrich at Bear Creek Scout Reservation near Hunt as council facilities.

Coin Collectors Convention At S. A. June 17 19

Poth Elm Students Win State Fire Poster Awards
Two Poth Elementary pupils won state fire poster honors in the State Fire Prevention Contest. Sylvia Rohan, a fifth grader, placed 3rd in Intermediate and earned 15 dollars. Jennifer Hosek, a second grader, placed 6th in Primary with a five dollar prize. Additional recognitions included honorable mentions and room awards by the Path Fire Department and Guadalupe Firemen's Convention honors in La Grange.

Peanut Festival Float Entered In Flambeau Parade
The Floresville Peanut Festival float joined the San Antonio Fiesta Flambeau night parade on Saturday April 27 with Susan Spruce as queen and her ladies in waiting. The float placed third in its category and was part of a grand event watched by thousands along the five mile route. Attendees included festival leaders Mr and Mrs Jack Bruce and secretary James Edmonds, who attended the banquet at the Gunter Hotel afterward with Mr Reynolds Andricks presiding over the recognition portion.
