Marcelina Baptist Homecoming Draws Large Turnout
The Marcelina Baptist Church marked its second annual homecoming on Sunday April 27 1952 with 106 attendees including former members and friends. Rev J Ray McVoy preached a stirring message. a noon basket dinner followed by a strong song service featured a male quartet from Harlandale and duets from Betty Lee Davis Margia Jo Helombe and others. The event honored former pastors and included testimonials from local residents about the churchs early days and impact.

District Court Term Opens in Wilson County
The Spring term of the district court for Wilson County opened Monday with Judge H D Barrow presiding. One jury case, State of Texas vs Trevino for burglary of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at Poth, resulted in a guilty verdict and a two year penitentiary sentence. The grand jury, sworn in with foreman T J Fatheree, returned six bills of indictment and additional civil matters were handled last week.
