Mrs. W. M. D. Harrell died at her Webbville home on Friday April 24 1936 at 5 55 am after ill health since January. Funeral services were held at Floresville Methodist Church on Saturday at 10 30 am with Rev. Richard K Heacock officiating. Interment followed in Floresville Cemetery. Leona May Staples born November 20 1895 in Kansas City Missouri daughter of Harry and Isabelle Staples joined Salvation Army service for years. She married W M Harrell of Floresville August 20 1932. no children. Deceased remembered as devoted wife and helpful neighbor. The Chronicle-Journal extends sympathy to the bereaved.

WPA project foreman Hi L Livingston reports brisk progress on the grubbing and fencing of Highway 97 between Floresville and Pleasanton. About 30 men work daily, nine miles of fence completed, 38 acres grubbed, with 69 acres remaining. Mesquite posts and four strand barbed wire fences rise as Atascosa and Wilson counties cooperate to expedite grading drainage and paving toward early completion.

Old Trailers Appear In Fiesta Parade Friday
Wilson county was represented in a seven mile Fiesta de San Jacinto parade in San Antonio last Friday afternoon by two well known Old Trail Drivers. T. J. Rees rode his horse Jim Hogg from Dallas to San Antonio for the parade and wore full cowboy regalia. Mr. Whittier drove four oxen on a large float, a prize winner, entered by St. Hedwig School.
