The Department of Public Safety and Channel 5 TV Tube Trotters will play a benefit basketball game on April 7, 1989 at 8:00 P.M. at Zane Lawdon Gym. Federal phone charges rise 30 cents April 1

Tragic death of Floresville student in 1989 crash
Larry Dale Kinard 18 a Floresville High senior died after a one vehicle crash on County Road 307 at 12 a.m. March 22 1989. Trooper Alvaro Ortiz reports Kinard lost control, hit a fence and a telephone pole, then electrocuted after handling a 14450 volt power line in wet conditions near La Vernia Texas.
