A Friday evening fire damaged a small rental house owned by Vicente Elias in southwest Floresville on the same lot as the Bias home. No one was home, giving the blaze a head start before firefighters arrived. They limited water use to the truck booster tank as the main supply was distant.

Funeral Held for Mrs. Josephine Price in San Antonio
Mrs. Josephine Price, 79, longtime Floresville resident and mother of Roy R. Atkins and J. L. Price, died March 24 in San Antonio after a stroke. Funeral services were held at the Rieber Home chapel in San Antonio with Rev. M. Davis and Rev. Lewis Coe. burial followed in Mission. She was born April 17, 1865, married twice, and leaves five grandchildren and two sons. The Chronicle-Journal extends sympathy to the bereaved.

Informal Reception Welcoming Pastor at Baptist Church
