Floresville Lions Club hosted a testimonial dinner in the school cafeteria for Dr E R Shedden a longtime dentist and community leader who after 49 years in Floresville and Wilson County plans to retire and move with sister Mrs A Bi May to home in Remus Michigan. The event featured sixty five guests and included remarks by local officials and civic leaders. A Hamilton Wristwatch with a Speidel band and a gift card were presented along with a guest register and donations from local donors. Dr Shedden thanked friends for decades of support and recalled his service on the Floresville school board and in the Chamber of Commerce while noting his commitment to education athletics and community service.

Masons honor Dr E R Shedden with jewel tribute
Floresville Masons gathered for a special meeting Tuesday night to present a partially engraved Past Masters jewel to Dr. E R Shedden in tribute to his 43 years of dental service. He plans to move to Tucson, Arizona this weekend to live with his sister. He transferred to Floresville Lodge in 1910 after active work in Remus Michigan. He served as Master 1915-16 and again for two years, secretary 1946-43, and treasurer since 1948, plus Worthy Patron of the Floresville Eastern Star Chapter No 271. He is a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Alsafar Shrine Temple in San Antonio.
