Stockdale FFA Livestock Show Draws Large Crowd
The Stockdale Future Farmers of America held its 18th Annual Livestock Show on the school campus last Saturday. A judging at 10 A.M. and an auction at 2 P.M. drew large crowds. The new FFA Livestock Barn hosted the sale for the first time, built with community support and student effort under Ag teacher R. F. Wilson. Judge J. W. Fairley selected top animals, with Wayne Pooley’s 927-pound Heerford winning first and selling for 85 cents per pound. Henry’s 88% pound Angus calf sold to Jarrett Woods for 27 cents. Twenty six hogs were shown. Meals and a speaking program accompanied the day, and organizers are praised. a full list of winners will appear next week.
